Dreams motivate us. They provide hope and inspire creativity. Dreams guide us.  And Dreams need to be brought about, realized, fulfilled, actualized, otherwise they remain fantasies.

We need to blend our dreams with our own unique, daily reality.

How?

  • Talk to supportive friends and family to express your ideas and get input.
  • Seek expert assistance – library books, internet information.
  • Have a plan – based on your values, your secret hopes and dreams.
  • Partialize your plan into little steps and specific time periods.  For example: 6 month goals; 1 year goals; 5 year goals; 10 year goals.
  • Separate your goals into different categories. For example, housing goals, employment goals, family goals, etc.
  • Stick to your ideals.  Review your goals and dreams regularly and be receptive to their inspiration.  Surround yourself with reminders of what your goals are.
  • Reward yourself when you have accomplished each step of your plan.
  • Give yourself positive self-talk throughout and ACTIVELY REJECT negative self-talk.
